About the Event

Mumbai Vascular Foundation (MVF) successfully conducted the 6th Edition of the Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Course from December 23rd to 25th, 2024.

This specialized training program brought together leading interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, diabetic foot specialists, nephrologists, and cardiologists for an immersive learning experience on the diagnosis, management, and latest endovascular interventions in peripheral vascular disease (PVD). The course featured expert-led lectures, real-world case discussions, hands-on simulator training, and interactive panel discussions - all designed to enhance the practical skills of medical professionals in managing complex vascular conditions.

Event Highlights

  • Expert-Led Learning — Insights from India's top vascular and interventional specialists.
  • Focused Modules — Dedicated sessions on Critical Limb Ischemia, Aorto-Iliac, Femoral, Popliteal, and Below-the-Knee (BTK) interventions.
  • Live Case Discussions & Simulations — Hands-on training with simulator models and extensive case libraries.
  • Cross-Specialty Approach — Multidisciplinary perspectives covering vascular access, risk factor modification, and management of complications.
  • Advanced Endovascular Techniques — Training on DCBs, stenting, atherectomy, AngioJet, thrombolysis, and deep venous arterialization.
  • Exclusive Learning Experience — Limited participants for focused, personalized mentorship.

Objectives

  • Understanding the clinical approach to Critical Limb Ischemia and PVD — for accurate diagnosis and timely intervention.
  • Developing skills in patient evaluation, vascular access, and intervention planning — to build a strong procedural foundation.
  • Gaining hands-on experience with advanced hardware and simulator models — through immersive practical sessions.
  • Mastering the management of complex lesions — including chronic total occlusions (CTOs) and calcified vessels.
  • Applying cutting-edge endovascular technologies — to improve outcomes in peripheral vascular interventions.

The course was led by esteemed experts across multiple specialties in vascular intervention, nephrology, cardiology, and diabetic foot care. Day-wise highlights included:
