About the Event

The Mumbai Vascular Foundation (MVF) successfully conducted the Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) Course from 1st to 3rd December 2023 at the Symbiosis Learning Centre, Dadar, Mumbai. This intensive training program was designed to enhance the knowledge and technical expertise of interventional radiologists, vascular surgeons, and healthcare professionals in the latest endovascular techniques for PAD and venous diseases.

With an expert faculty comprising renowned specialists from across India, the course featured a comprehensive curriculum covering pathophysiology, patient selection, treatment strategies, and hands-on training using simulators and live case demonstrations.

Event Highlights

  • In-depth learning on Superficial Venous Disease — from pathophysiology to advanced treatment modalities.
  • Live case demonstrations — Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT), and VenaSeal Glue Ablation for varicose veins.

Objectives

Understanding the pathophysiology and management of peripheral vascular disease (PVD). Developing a step-by-step approach to patient evaluation and selection for treatment. Gaining expertise in vascular access techniques, including antegrade vs. retrograde approaches. Learning strategies to tackle Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) and calcified lesions effectively. Mastering the latest tools and techniques for endovascular interventions.
